Discord brings back the fun and nostalgia of video and game rental stores.

For GDC 2025, we wanted to create an interactive experience that reminded our audience of the places where our love of gaming first came to be and where we used to hang out with our friends the most, and that is when Discord Games + More was born. Not only was this space a place for us to share in all of Discord’s offerings disguised as a video and video game rental store, but it became a place where people genuinely wanted to hang out and spend time during GDC. We packed our booth with fun visuals, gaming-first easter eggs, and stunning merch, which literally caused such a big traffic jam on the showroom floor, we had a line wrapping around the booth 2x over.

The booth was such a fun space to design in. Everything was fair game. We crafted EVERY SINGLE PIECE of the booth from the custom Discord Games + More carpet to the neon signs hanging from the ceiling. The team stayed up late night after night, making sure every single detail was considered and custom-catered to our gaming and game developer audience.

It’s safe to say, if you’re ever looking to open a video rental store, you know who to call!

The customization for the booth detailed over 100 custom assets some of which included DVD sleeves which the staff hand stuffed and filled the booth, candy boxed with game developer jokes/slangs on them, movie + video game posters, stickers, pins, t-shirts, etc.

We even created custom digital screensavers and bumpers to play on the demo computers and TV screens in-between talks when they weren’t being used so that every surface was always considered.

we even made a custom mix for the “store” that played on loop for the days of the convention so that our users really felt immersed in the whole experience.
